Wow, that really surprised me. Shocked

There had been rumours about it before - it got added to her wikipedia article quite a few times but deleted because there was no confirmation.

I'm sure it's even been mentioned on here before about Jane. It certainly wasn't a surprise to me.

Good for her. It must take a lot of courage to tell the world.

You should try it, let us know how it feels..

Am not sure she 'told the world'. I told my Mother, which was harder than telling the world. Wink

Gotta love Jane, though. One of the BBC News presenters who is consistently good.

Good on Jane. It's a nerve racking step, but a very positive one!

Ellie presented the lunchtime bulletin today I think it's her first appearance on BBCOne apart from the 8pm summary

I did wonder on occasion, as you never saw any interviews with Jane, plus I noticed the Wiki vandalism in the past.

I know some people like to keep their private life private, but you occasionally get a tidbit from somewhere.

Good on Jane I say, always loved her on screen, always will.

I take it that Tim did the lunchtime news instead of someone else?

Looks like she didn't make a big deal about it in an in-house magazine, which the Daily Mail have latched onto and reported with their usual grace. I thought she was older than 40 though - lucky the BBC isn't bumping her off in favour of someone older.
