I understand that wikipedia isn’t exactly the most reliable but it says that Huw Edwards occasionally presents the One (for special events etc) in his role of Chief Presenter for BBC News. When is the last time he has done this? I can not remember a single time he has done.

I distinctly remember him doing the One on location a couple of years ago (think it might have been the Manchester Arena tragedy). There's a video on TV Ark present it in 1999 on the day of the Solar Eclipse so presume he presented it more in them days? But it's been many years since he last done it from the studio (not to mention they have a big enough pool of hosts for The One).

Hmm, I’m sure Ben Brown did the One after the Manchester Attack and seeing it on YouTube recently.

Edit: Just clocked that he definitely presented in Auschwitz with Simon in the studio - it was since they have been at NBH.

That’ll be someone, probably someone here, taking everything literally.

If someone presents a bulletin once on a special occasion they are neither a regular or an occasional presenter.

Just checked BBC News Fix (sad I know) Ben Brown did it from Manchester in the immediate aftermath on the Tuesday but then Huw did it on the Wednesday from Manchester.

I think Huw presented the One from Downing Street when Johnson became PM last July?

Just checked and it was Simon McCoy (from Westminster) on Tuesday 23rd July and Sophie Raworth (from Downing Street) & Jane Hill (from the studio) on Wednesday 24th July. Huw did a special from Downing Street on the Wednesday afternoon between 1:45 and 3pm.

That's what I'm thinking of then!

Ben Brown taking over at Three instead of Four as per usual.

Because the special is starting at 3pm ahead of the Boris questioning at 3:30pm.

Only 5?
In the past year the 6 has seen George, Huw, Sophie, Fiona, Reeta, Clive, Mishal, Tina, Simon and possibly Jane and Ben present on weekdays.

Well to be fair on a normal week you would only see George, Huw, Sophie and Fiona doing the Six & Ten, with Reeta and Clive primarily at weekends but covering weekdays when needed. The others you mentioned seldom present in the evenings during the week, and have only really appeared during holiday periods. And Jane, Ben & Simon mainly do the One.

Before we had COVID I think I would add Clive to one of the main ones presenting most Fridays and generally covering the Ten more often than others.

Up to the end of March, Clive was on a score of 6 editions of the Ten, compared to Huw on 24, Sophie on 19 and Reeta on 12.

Fair enough. He was in Australia most of January reporting the fires however.
