Why do I get the feeling Simon McCoy might pop up at some point on national today?

Simon McCoy will be making his debut on the Six this evening.

Thought this might be the case when he wasn’t at 1 or afternoon live.

Joanna has done the News at One solo before (weekday non-holiday), once in the last year or two. I can't remember precisely when - it will be on that News Fix site.

She also fronted a few weekend evening bulletins back in the 2009 N6 days (and stayed on to do the evening shift on the NC too).

And it looks like he's also doing the Ten as well! They must really be running short of people this week (for obvious reasons).

I didn't think Simon would suit the Six/Ten (probably cos I'm use to seeing him during daytime) but he actually does and i definitely prefer him to the likes of Sophie and Clive!

He seemed a bit nervous at the top of the Ten there. I was shouting “Breathe!”

Is Huw on holiday again then? He was only back for a few days.
