We don’t normally get to see much of Reeta Chakrabarti on BBC World, save for election times and such like.

I have to say I do quite like her. She is a rather capable and efficient presenter.

She is very good. She does have a slight tendency to fluff her lines at least once per shift and has an odd way of saying certain words ('plarstic' instead of 'plastic' being my favourite) but on the whole she is a good all rounder.
Charlesy, SuperSajuuk and cmthwtv gave kudos

I do also get Alan Partridge vibes when she says “what”

Even in these dark times, he can still use his wit to lift the mood. The last report was about a music concert in Italy. After the report ended Simon linked out with "ending on a positive note".

She can read autocue properly, unlike at least one of her colleagues.

Alastair Burnett used to say 'Plarstic' too, so she's in good company.

I think she's excellent. There was a One O'Clock News a few years that just fell apart around her, she stayed perfectly calm, wouldn't surprise me if her heart rate remained below 100 bpm !

It seems to be that the BBC no longer likes appointing presenters under a program name. A recent example (slightly off topic I do apologise) is The One Show.

There are too many BBC One cover presenters. I wouldn’t be surprised if when Huw and George eventually move on that a different presenter would just pop along every day.

I certainly agree. Only Simon brings warmth and personality to the BBC One bulletins no matter what the situation.

He’s the best ever newsreader on the BBC. He’s also the only person in the public eye to ever reply to one of my tweets. Nice guy.

Indeed with some news shifts these days it's more a surprise when the usual rostered presenter actually appears.
If I tune into the 1 O'Clock news it's normally Ben Brown, Reeta or A.N.Other rather than Sophie Raworth (who seems to be cover for the 6/10 presenter these days).
Similarly, the weekday evening slot on BBC News Channel while on paper is Clive Myrie's slot seems to have had everyone covering it at some stage and you only see Clive presenting it every so often.

Do you mean Simon McCoy or the ladybird on his tie?

Not really fair to call it Clive's slot anymore, it's more of whoever's free, he's done it like once this year.

Has Ben Brown been presenting solely on BBC World News over the last couple of days? He has done the 7pm (UK time) hour on the NC over the last couple of days which now seems to be the tail end of a World shift, as it's the same as the likes of Christian Fraser and Matthew Amroliwala have done over the last few weeks.
