Gareth Barlow with Kasia Madera overnight, covering the Breaking News of the Iranian Military strikes on US assets in Iraq.

A seasoned radio reporter and presenter, Gareth has just confirmed his abilities as a tv news reporter/anchor. Very impressive indeed.

Gareth now continuing with Sally Bundock to cover the Iran plane crash as well.

Katy Austin is leaving Look North to join the BBC Business Unit as “Weekend Business Correspondent”. I think this role has been vacant ever since Joe Lynam left the BBC a couple of years ago.

Jane O’Brien returned to presenting and reporting for BBC World News for a few days during the recent holidays season.

Also with all the conflict going on in the Middle East MSNBC has been relying on the expertise of former BBC’er Kim Ghattas. She appeared most recently last night on The 11th Hour with Brian Williams.

Dharshini David has been appointed as Global Trade Correspondent for BBC World News.
