I’m sure you’d handle it perfectly.

Sigh.

I stand by my point - in contrast to other weekend presenters (Shaun Ley, for instance) who take issues in their stride, any time anything happens off-script or a line goes down, Lukwesa seems to come completely unstuck. It’s not particularly impressive for someone with 13 years’ anchoring experience.

Honestly, I'd say your making a mountain out of a molehill, but this is less than a molehill, and you're still making a mountain out of it. It's one of those things that occasionally happens, it's no big deal.

You have no idea what was going on with her autocue, being said in her earpiece, happening around her etc.

Does look like she was being told which story to go to and was attempting to fill as the autocue wasn't working at the beginning.

Obviously Carrie is entitled to express an opinion and to freely make use of Twitter as we all do. I’m just wondering how “bosses” feel about this? At some point (maybe even today, who knows) Carrie will have to interview Soapy DTL on some US or Trump story. Becomes a bit awkward, no? Or do “bosses” just ensure that they never appear together, ever, which is a bit pathetic they have to orchestrate such a thing.

I bet Jon truly regrets that conversation with Humphrys now! It was rather misguided.

I don't agree. I don't use social media to 'wash my laundry' with colleagues in public, (if I were to, I'd receive a written warning) and I don't see why this is any different in principle ?

I think in any other field or sector, if a grievance like that was aired on social media about another colleague (in this case Jon Sopel), said person who posted it on Twitter would be hauled over hot coals. It actually borders on bullying, I'm afraid to say, whether intended that way or not.

I agreed with a lot of what Carrie said in the early days, but she's stepping over the mark now as if the feeling of power and being untouchable has gone to ones head.

I can see both sides here, as much as I'm drawn to the argument that this should be dealt with in private, I can also see that Carrie should have the right of reply to something that is being said about her in a public forum

I doubt it. Carrie only really presents Monday and Friday mornings on the News Channel, whereas Jon Sopel mainly reports during the Six and Ten news bulletins.
