That is assuming they know I suppose, I imagine it used to be easier as they could see the news studio preparing to go on air beforehand, now it's always on air.

My cable provider turned off my "free for the pandemic" BBC World access a month ago or so but I'm watching tonight on PBS... Maryam Moshiri with overnights this weekend. New face for PBS viewers?

In the days of manual playout the BBC had PresFax whuch was basically an over the air video telex service typed up by its operator who sat in the back of the network control room ....
when automation came in (1990s) there was the PresFax Next junction , whuch extracted the information from the serial line version of the Schedule Status Display SSD and sent this at just after the last junction and at 10mins and 2 mins before the next .... this was sent by Datacast ( packet x/31 Teletext )
this was displayed on a monochrome video display and side almost frame accurate second count downs in and out carried as numbers in the test signal and displayed burnt in to the network monitor
With the change from Probel to Omnibus automation with the move to the Broadcast Centre
Presfax was redone to a single screen whuch was a teletext like screen with the next [5] items in the schedule and count referenced to packet 8/30f1 likewise carried over Datacast but unlike the NJ version not Emitted.
This was done by reading the schedule file and the same box generated PDC and packet 8/30f1 ....
Augmented as alway by network talkback
Both of these were carried over the outgoing network feed becuse it was reliable ( in fact the NJ version was carried in both networks just in case one failed) and also for counts to be close to frame accurate .
It is only a few years ago that using theHUD from the automation over the
BBC IP network has been used.

Thinking about it, the regional teams would have access to OpenMedia which would give them the running order for the One. Network pres probably wouldn't have that.

Ahahah noooo. Sorry. I mean like, is Shaun elsewhere or is there a SPECIFIC reason to why she is presenting?
(I'd like to see the cleaner have a good go though).

Why did Martine not present the bulletin on bbc one tonight since she was in the studio at 10 and Rita at 10:07.

Martine is on the news channel shift, Reeta also did the early evening bulletin so probably refined the script

I am sure this has been said several times but given how experienced Martine is I see no reason why the Saturday late bulletin is not done by who is on the News Channel.

Then again if lunchtime can be done by the duty NC presenter then all of them can be throughout the weekend.

I had the NC on at 10pm and with BBC1 running late it felt rather disjointed for Martine to go through some stories throw to a bit of a filler report and then after a small countdown straight to Reeta at 7 minutes past for Martine to reappear after the bulletin.
