This is all getting a bit weird. No need to discuss presenters’ holidays in such detail.

This thread is turning into stalkersville. Speculating as to who’s been on vacation and who hasn’t and who’s flown in and out of what airport, who’s had leave and who’s due more leave.......

Who wasn’t on air for blocks of weeks at a time..........

There’s a fine line between having a healthy interest in television News and practically second guessing the personal movements of the presenters.

Their personal movements too? But Paula Radcliffe doesn’t read the news...

Nothing is set in stone, and nothing is normal at this point in time. Everything could change at a moment's notice. For example - NBH could have a building wide spread of CV19...then what? While pondering on shifts and slots is in part what this thread is for, and with me not to wanting to pour water on anyone's fun, it just feels a bit redundant to me.

Things like - maybe Huw could do 4-6 then the 10, smaller shifts, less slots, not being able to fit people in - come on folks - am sure BBC rostering is a well oiled machine, speculation just seems futile.

All we know for now is that Huw is back early September.
Joanna Gosling is due vacation as is Annita, as is Clive and Ben, Sophie and Fiona.
Victoria Derbyshire has taken hers - as has Simon. Jane is probably on hers now.
George is back and let's face it - looking really good!

Sorry to throw a spanner into the well-oiled works, but i'm pretty sure Sophie has taken holiday already -- end of July I think.

'Well oiled works' HA! Are you sure about this? I recall Huw doing almost a week of 6 and 10? @Rolling News - stats please. Wink

He did three consecutive days of six and ten between 27 and 29 July

Their whole schedule/rota оn national news is so messy and chaotic (wasn't better before COVID19 either tbh) that I don't understand the constant shocks and surprises here whenever one of these 5 or 6 anchors in rotation appear on one of these 3 bulletins.

I mean, if it was a really fixed schedule with a dedicated presenter doing Mon-Fri and then someone random fills in, it could be something noteworthy but this? OMG Rita is doing 6, Sophie is on 10, will Huw do 6 tomorrow, or maybe Clive will appear or maybe George will be back. Breaking news..... Zipper

I don't really see it as a StalkersVille -- just a general discussion as to who has, and who has not had a holiday after most presenters not having any time off for months.
If you don't like the thread then that's okay, but don't then hang about waiting to pounce on anything you don't like.

The BBC's mix of presenters and lack of presenter continuity, in my eyes, is a good thing. It means you don't get the same old lot all the time -- which, to be honest, is just plain boring.

While I agree with the sentiment of not visiting threads you clearly have little or no interest in, this is getting beyond a joke.

If people are having to self-censor their post because it hasn't dawned on them at the time how odd/creepy/stalkerish it is then we've got a problem.

TVF was set up primarily to talk about presentation. If it continues like it has been I will have no hesitation in closing these threads and limiting discussing to major newsreader changes only.

Read the pinned thread and don't ignore the yellow box that pops up every time you reply here. This really is the last warning.

Christian Fraser is on World/NC overnight simulcast… For Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention?

Mike Embley at 2. I'm sure there is some logic behind the 3rd day of a 4 day event requiring special coverage (that ended before anything even happened) but I really can't work out what it is, especially considering Mike has done US centric hours for years and Rajini (who was on the late) is a former Washington correspondent and occasional presenter of WNA.

Rajini doing the 4-7 NC shift.

First time doing a full News Channel shift.
