Thank goodness. "Coronavirus Your Stories" was awful.

I don’t usually watch BBC London but a lovely surprise to see Ellie Crissell pop up after the One.

Always baffled me why she stopped appearing on the news channel.

Is she part of the BBC South East team, rather than the London team, given the lunchtime bulletins over the last few months have been a cost-cutting South East / London hybrid, presented from the South East studio? She certainly isn't part of the usual BBC London presenting line-up.

I think it was officially a COVID thing, to reduce the number of people in NBH, rather than cost cutting.

I think her style at the time wasn’t considered suitable for adults. Although maybe she’s improved in the last 7 years or so.

I thought I was hearing things when the announcer said Jane Hill and Ellie Crissell. (yup, it was a London and South East) branded bulletin. It was really lovely to see her again, hasn't aged a day.

I also liked her style. I do perhaps those in charge perhaps felt she was too youthful looking, but that can't be the train of thought now surely when you consider the likes of Ben Bland and certainly Rich Preston are on screen.

Bulletin here.

She seems to suit local news. I always thought the News Channel wasn’t right for her.

A few years ago, Polly Evans, the former co-lead presenter for South East Today went on a secondment and Ellie Crissell largely filled in (as did Natalie Graham, who is Polly's eventual successor). Ellie stayed presenting those bulletins ever since. She's a familiar face to viewers in Kent and East Sussex.
