Is the same host for the Six and Ten now standard - caught the Six twice over the last week or two with Huw presenting on both occassions.

I think it's because Sophie Raworth is on holiday.

Huw did 6/10 Mon and Tues last week, with Clive doing it until Saturday.

This week Huw did Monday to Wednesday - although I doubt it's permanent as Sophie, Fiona and Reeta were all off and George seems to have been off since June now. Sophie seems to be back today and Reeta so I doubt it will continue for much longer.

May well continue for several weeks as there is a good chance that Fiona will be off for most of the next several weeks (at least if the dates for Antiques Roadshow filming are still similar to those that were on the website before they were removed to stop people turning up without an appointment) and Huw, Clive and Simon are all likely to take some time off over the summer (and Huw may well have his own non news projects returning to filming now restrictions are being eased).

I think we might end up seeing this more often as well. It's nice to see Jane, Simon, Reeta, Ben and Clive doing a mix. Can imagine we might be seeing Ben doing the One soon as well, considering he was the highest number in 2019.

Wholeheartedly agree. Consistency has been on point. It's all the names you mention with a splash of Martine Croxall and Rebecca Jones thrown in for good measure.

She's good but hasn't done much presenting during lockdown

I’ll have to do a count for who’s presented the News Channel during lockdown.

I am a lot less sceptical about this schedule than I was previously. Alright, some people loose their slots and it looks like the days of branding is down the drain. And the simulcasts can prove a pain at times, and a certain 2 hour programme in the evening isn't particularly suiting. But all in all, the news channel now has news at the heart of it again and talented presenters can show their ability from all sides of them.

Whilst the NC has gone back to more of a rolling news style of presentation, albeit with more shared NC & World output, I disagree with the proposed continuing of the NC & World mid-morning weekday simulcasts, whether it's to save money on a World presenting shift or not. It's not a suitable time for either channel to be simulcasting. If there's a big UK centric story developing in the morning, or if there's a big UK political speech or development the NC is covering, it won't be suitable for World to take it as well. We saw that a few weeks ago with the PM's pointless "life will be back to normal by Christmas" media briefing.
The evenings aren't safe from big UK centric stories either. Remember late autumn 2018 - Spring 2019, most evenings was Christian Fraser in Parliament Square covering the Brexit votes, and that will be back as a big UK centric story early next year.

If World needs to cut out a weekday shift, instead of cutting out mid-mornings to simulcast the NC, they should cut out the 8 -10pm shift and do 5 - 9pm and then 9pm - 1am instead. OS exists in name only now anyway, will it ever return to the balcony and the touch screen? It's basically just a standard studio bulletin now without a proper intro & headline sequence.

Are you watching the correct channel? She most certainly has been a staple part of the schedule, even if it's one shift a week!

Dear Rolling News - Where art thou?

Three times in March, once in April, twice in May, twice in June and twice in July so far according to TVNewsFix. She's appeared but not regular.

Dear Rolling News - Where art thou?

I'm going to do a count starting from the 18th March (6 Days before lockdown officially started but when the BBC news channel strictly became 'BBC News') right up to the end of July for the News channel, including all the simulcasts, government daily briefings and the all important Outside Source. I should have it up by tomorrow night.

Yeah those simulcasts dosent work no one outside the uk would really care what John from Grimsby was doing in all honesty.

On the plus side World viewers have to got to see tons of Studio E, the newsroom and the difference in intro sequence.

Correct me if I am wrong - but are these the current World slots?

1-5am
5-10am
12-4pm
4-8pm
8-10pm
10:30-1am

That's 6 presenters across the day, in comparison with 4 slots (excluding 6 and 10) on domestic. I don't want to enter fantasy land, but with 10 presenters in total for domestic and World - surely there's a way around simulcasting at times that better suit the UK or better suit World?

I am pretty sure the last two slots are simulcasts as well, it’s only in the afternoon where you get the dedicated world slots now.
