At one point Naga was presenting the early morning (5am) slot on World/News Channel from London a few days a week and then Breakfast from Salford a couple more
Naga is a good example of nurturing and promoting talent rather than going for a big name
By the way, who's JP?

I thought Jessica Parker at first but then realised John Pienaar

Naga was the 5-8am anchor for quite a few years, presenting Mon-Thurs alongside Sally Bundock. Martine Dennis did Friday-Sunday. Then, the role was split: Naga one week and Komla Dumor the next. (All of this is after the departure of Jonathan Charles). You’re right, Naga then reduced her appearances to twice a week and would then also appear on GMT one day per week and Breakfast at weekends.
Flowing through from Working Lunch, is indeed a prime example of nurtured talent and one such example who I’d love to see back at World.
She and Sally were a great pairing.

Just a note and thank you to the formers who kindly corrected me on a post I made last night. I did make a mistake about good old Chris Mason and apologise, I've quite a few friends at the Beeb who openly fly the flag. I got Chris mixed up with someone else. Eek. I can't find the post to edit, so hopefully it was removed.
Apologies once again, and big shouts to my fellow formers who messaged me.
Now onto the rest of the days news.....

Chatty Man isn’t even on the same channel! 😜
On a serious note, Chris has a very down-to-earth and unassuming presence when he’s broadcasting. On the few occasions I’ve seen him, I quite like him on Breakfast. He’s a bit of a comforting presence of a morning and, in the wider political sense, he definitely knows his stuff.
And, in a random and entirely unrelated thought that’s just crossed my mind: is Charlie Stayt now the longest serving presenter of any BBC Breakfast (Time) format ever?
I know on the other side, Lorraine Kelly and Kate Garraway are much longer morning presenters. But as far as the BBC goes, has Charlie now overtaken Bill in length of service?

Almost! Bill did 15 years (2001-2016) and Charlie has now being doing it for 14 years (since 2006).
Louise has also been doing it regularly since 2006 (initially as the main cover person before getting a regular position in 2012) but also made one off appearances in 2001-2003.

Ben on a Friday - seems Reeta is in for Clive on the 6 and 10.

Reeta was indeed at the network presenter's desk in the newsroom during two NC pans.

I'd like to make, not so much an apology, but an update on Reeta Chakrabarti. I think from a previous post where I said I didn't understand why the BBC had catapulted her to Network TV was at first fully justified
Since that post, possibly some 2-3 years ago, I find her to be one of my favourite presenters of BBC News. I think she's just brilliant.
