Huw always takes an extended break across the summer. In fact he’s had less of a break this time as he was on a few times around when we got the new PM.

There is always a stage in the summer when even the regular cover presenters go off and you have even more rare appearances.

Well probably get Fiona, Mishal or Tina appearing by Friday.

It was a strange programme generally last night, almost half of it was taken up by 'current affairs', style reports, rather than, 'this is what happened today'

Welcome to summer...

I'm not on holiday, so I expect a properly filled BBC NaT Razz

Surely Simon does the One often enough that they would have a v/o they could butcher if they couldn't find somebody in the newsroom with a broadcastable voice to quickly record a new one?

Which is what they did in Yorkshire, chopping off the “.. at Ten o’clock” to use an announcement they’d obviously used before at one.

You can always tell it’s a slow news day when you get “Tonight at Ten, a special report...”

No more than admitting it on this forum.

What's happened to Kate Silverton?

Joanna has done the News at One solo before (weekday non-holiday), once in the last year or two. I can't remember precisely when - it will be on that News Fix site.

She also fronted a few weekend evening bulletins back in the 2009 N6 days (and stayed on to do the evening shift on the NC too).

Caught on this now infamous Schafernaker clip. You catch 2 seconds of the end of the BBC One update at the beginning with Joanna in the chair.

[…]

I could be wrong about her doing the News at One recently solo, before Tuesday, as come to think of it now it could have been a time when the 'main' presenter was on location. (Otherwise probably rota'd for it had whatever big story had broken not been on.) It may actually have been a duo I was thinking about therefore. Oh well, not to worry, without my earlier post, I would never have got the response with the Schafernaker video, which I wasn't aware of before. So thanks for sharing it.

News Fix hasn't been updated in a while

That's just the front page and the information with stills elsewhere, stuck on 2016. The archive is still being updated.
It's now on Google sites not Moonfruit (in case you were looking at Moonfruit).

Ah, perfect, thanks. I didn't check the archive, just the programmes.

1. Which is where the East Mids has the advantage, as they don't give bulletin times, just a generic "Now the News, with......"

2. Has Tina presented a Television bulletin since she joined Radio 2 Breakfast?

Yes, she presented the 10 on a Friday night a few weeks ago and has done the occasional weekend bulletins. She also frequently does Breakfast at the weekend.

Less frequently since she got the new radio 2 job, but she has done one or two Breakfasts since then.
