Impossible for Working Lunch as its transmission times are too close or even overlap the one o'clock news.
How will it save money to move Breakfast to the N24 studio? I thought that Breakfast, Working Lunch and Newsnight all shared the same studio - unless they are planning to put something else in there from 6-9am every weekday?
It'll save money because it won't have to be staffed until 1000. The News 24 operation requires less people than the studio used by Breakfast, Working Lunch and Newsnight.

Will Newsnight also move out of TC7 then, and could this be a possible contender to move to N6? Although they would have to change the start time as it clashes with the ten at the moment.
Sorry just reading page one and if it has been mentioned beofre I'm sorry but BBc Breakfast did use the N24 studio during the Easter bank holiday, they did something similar to News 24 Sunday but did'nt have a table and used soft sofas.
Sorry if its been mentioned and did anybody else see it, it did look qite good but...cramped.

There's also the issue of changing sets over night.
There was a large staff meeting at the BBC within News today - widely reported elsewhere.
In studio terms the following were openly discussed.
1. Breakfast NOT moving to News 24, but instead sharing a studio with the One, Six and Ten O'Clock News - IF money could be found to fund this. I would imagine that they would be aiming to reduce costs of scene-shifting, and the current BBC One News studio is not in a location designed for scene changes, so a single set would need to work for all shows, or two sets would need to co-exist in the same studio space.
2. Newsnight, Working Lunch and Newsround wil have to share a versatile set OR have sets that co-exist in the same space with out lots of setting, lighting and striking through the day. In other words the three shows will be expected to share the same space - so it is either smaller fixed sets for each show, or shows sharing a flexible set.
This means that the large studio (Newsnight etc.) will only require one shift of studio crew, not two, and the number of scene shifters and lighting electricians will be reduced.
It also means that Breakfast can operate with lower levels of craft staff than they would if they were in the larger studio - and not cost hugely more than a beefed up News 24 operation. (They would have had to have put a lighting operator and probably a camera operator into News 24)
Effectively this is slightly similar to the corporate blue situation (where Breakfast News, the One, Six and Nine all shared the same studio - and Working Lunch came from an identical back-up studfo albeit completely chromakeyed!) and the large studio situation is similar to the original Breakfast News / Working Lunch / Newsnight shared set (with swappable panels) that was used when the current studio entered service with news in 1997.
So does this mean that Breakfast will come from the current BBC One News set? Or as you said, it will share a studio with the One, Six and Ten, which could possibly mean a new set?

It means that they are examining the possibility of Breakfast coming from the same studio as the One, Six and Ten O'Clock News, with no setting and striking of any major consequence between the shows. This either means two sets in the same studio, or one flexible set or all shows.
It almost certainly doesn't mean the current One, Six and Ten set being used for Breakfast.
