Looks good on screen Shocked have you seen it? The broadcast quality from Cambridge is less than satisfactory most days.

The problem with Cambridge is that I believe originally it was designed as a short to medium term solution. That appears to be more permanent now. I think there is also talk about BBC Radio Cambridgeshire moving to another location which would force the TV service to move as well.

I think for quite a few years nothing was done due to the propose new region based in Milton Keynes, which would have affected the Cambridge (West) opt-out.

I guess as it hasn't really changed for years it can seem slightly stale. However as previously mentioned, it's only used for a small amount of time per day, and looking at the 360degree studio tour the space is fairly limited.

But i thought time of use was irrelevant here! It was about acheiving a 'coherant' look.

I think they could achieve a coherent look through a new desk, it doesn't have to be identical to the tefal desk in Norwich, but a similar style to the BBC News would work. They could also change the backdrop. Amazingly I feel Norwich's backdrop works very well with the National backdrop.

Is BBC London alone in using the 'wrong' music? Quite strange for us in this region to revert to a theme tune we haven't heard since 2001!

London's using the wrong music? Confused

It's using the version posted on the BBC News website last week with the high pitched beeps - almost identical to the 1999 theme.

It's not the 'wrong' tune. The new Regions theme tune is a rerecording of the 1999 Regions theme, which is in my opinion far better than the original BBC London News theme tune.

As far as I can hear, the theme used by the English Regions is the 1999 (well actually 2000) English Regions theme. Maybe slightly touched up, but recognisably the same theme.

Not liking what BBC Newsline had done with their DOG during Breakfast. Essentially using a blank ticker! That's taking keeping in with the house style to extreme. So, for that matter, is the title sequence reading "BBC Newsline BBC News". (Then again, no doubt once things have settled down and all is quite, after a few months the "BBC News" will be quietly changed to "BBC Northern Ireland" like the last time).

But the point is BBC London is using a different version of this theme to the other regions.

Why have a fake view as a backdrop of the BBC TV National Newsroom on A BBC TV Regional News Programme ?

I just can't see the sense in it ?

I know that the BBC rebrand was all about a coherent look but showing a London Newsroom in Hull just takes the whole excercise too far !

[QUOTE]Turns out Newyddion is blocked from the S4C online feed, but it seems like there's been no change. Missed the opening, but the old astons with the "N" logo in the old BBC globe are still being used.

Newyddion can be seen here - no changes as yet... due in the next few weeks

From what I saw at 0830ish, the ticker was blank for about 10 seconds and then the "advice text" started scrolling across.

All Look North bulletins today have started with a presenter shot thanking Huw/George etc, headlines then the opening titles

Is this direction from London for the relaunch, as Look North always used to go titles first, presenters, headlines then sting
