The Sunday teatime slot appears to be 15 mins (inc national weather no doubt)
Why didn't they put one of the Sunday bulletins during the Politics Show like the National News?
(Extend the PS past the hour mark perhaps?)
Cos they have regional politics inserts which are produced by the regions and nations already, so actually now on a Sunday there will be three separate regional inserts on BBC 1.
And of course the Politics Show regionally opts usually use the regional studio which in many cases is redressed for the Politics Show - so you couldn't do both unless one used CSO.
No " insert " for Newsnight Scotland on BBC Two Scotland tonight ( and interestingly no regional continuity for the later part of the evening ).
Has this been cancelled for tonight to allow coverage of the 20th anniversary of the downfall of the Berlin Wall or has somebody forgotten to " flick the switch " in BBC Scotland?

I would imagine the latter. I honestly can't see how Scotland has anything more important to consider, report on or look back on than the fall of the Berlin Wall's anniversary.
Newsnight Scotland is usually cancelled on special occasions when the whole of network Newsnight is devoted to one topic.
This wouldn't affect the announcers' shifts though. It must simply have been the case that there was nothing for them to cover up because they'd still have been on duty. Often London junctions go out on 2 if there are no trails to replace or incorrect info in the announcers' script.
I note that several BBC regions have had no main news programmes accessible online for over 2 months now, including BBC North West and BBC Look North NE&C.
It seems they may be being moved over to the iplayer? Anyone know why the long delay?
I posted this on Digital Spy and thought I should also post it here.
I was watching the News at Six tonight and noticed that during a report on unemployment, a character called "Mr Plod" had a very familiar stock photo. On closer inspection, I realised this was not a stock photo, but a photo of a police officer who was killed during training. When the show becomes available on iPlayer I will take a screenshot to show you, as my TV capture card was off during the programme.
Does anybody else think the BBC should have taken a bit more research into the man in the photo or was it just chosen on a whim?

I noticed this also and thought it to be quite insensitive! Especially as it appeared more than once.
