North West Tonight online normally cut out the sports stories because of copyright issues with using images from other channels, such as Sky Sports, Setanta etc.

I've noticed the same on ITV Local, the highlights to Premier League games are held by other websites usually.

Look East have been having a few special guest reporters/presenters in the past week, and on Friday there was a tour of the (Norwich) studio by Martin Brundle...

Shows just how small the studios are in these new BBC centres... it's tiny - probably even smaller than BBC Leeds studio. Which is saying something!

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I've just watched the online viewing of tonight's Look North (Leeds), and the very last item that was shown on TV was cut out, even from the headlines. I'm really annoyed because I wanted to catch something in the report that I missed.

Do the English regions normally cut some material out, because I cannot think of anything in the report which forced them to do so?

I think they are cutting stuff out. On Thursday the online version of Spotlight was barely 20 minutes long and on Friday the tribute to Westcountry appeared in the headlines but the report had been edited out....very annoying!!

I always got the impressions Hull was smaller than Leeds, although of course the Hull studio at Queen's Court is bigger than the temporary shoebox they had at the old Radio Humberside building!

The Leeds studio can look quite big on-screen, particularly with some of the camera angles they use on the Superleague Show.

It can - and yes, I suppose anyone who was used to the old Woodhouse Lane studio at BBC Leeds will always think the new one is small!

I remember when they moved into the Forum saying how much bigger the new studio was compared to the old one. I vaguely remember seeing a photo somewhere of the old studio, with one of the cameras literally in a different room in order to get a wide enough shot.

I'd certainly welcome the weekend BBC regional bulletins being given more resources

The BBC London bulletins at the weekend are laughably poor.

Way, it appears they haven't ruled out the idea of BBC Cheshire, in some form or another, far overdue. Very Happy

Slightly off topic, but are most of the BBC English Regions evening news programmes double headed?
I think BBC South and BBC North East and Cumbria is single headed? I ask as this was a big thing spouted about when BBC Scotland was cutting costs last year.
I think I am correct in saying all BBC Nations news programmes have one anchorwoman/anchorman.

No BBC Newsline is double headed with Noel and Donna.

Does anyone else think this announcement could see some of the sub regions such as BBC Oxford get there own complete service?
