Do you think that to tie in with this new Gaelic service being launched soon, that Newyddion will get the new LN graphics? The question is when will they ever get the new graphics.

I noticed today that Look East appears to be coming from Cambridge today.

The bulletin was presented using a single camera throughout, a slightly different view of the forum in Norwich and behind the presenter (Kevin Burch) was a metal pole with a red backing below. Having checked Fridays East and West editions it looks very much like the Cambridge studio. Kevin also appears to be resting his arms on a desk (something which you can't do on the Tefal desk in Norwich).

Well now I'm guessing it's the top one with the 'Alba' in it ?

I notice at 8pm [primetime no less], it appears Scotland can expect to enjoy a Gaelic version of Sali Mali.

That's quite interesting - it's not the first time a sub-region has provided studio facilities over a weekend; Oxford did a couple of weekends worth of South Todays and Politics Shows a few years ago when technical work was being carried out in Southampton.

Here's a picture of Jo Kent presenting a pan-region South Today from Oxford in 2006:

A couple of pan-regional Midlands Todays came from Nottingham some years ago when Pebble Mill closed - the last MT from the Mill was at 2225 on a Friday, the first from the Mailbox was Lunchtime (I think) the following Monday. In between, Nottingham produced special pan-Midlands bulletins on Saturday, Sunday and, ISTR, Breakfast on Monday.

I don't think it was Oxford. They have two studios at Southampton, and the smaller one has been used on occasion since 1990. Oxford only gained a full blown studio (with its own gallery) in 2005.

No that picture does indeed show Jo Kent presenting a pan regional from Oxford.

I'm surprised we didn't get pan-regionals from Hull while Leeds moved, but Woodhouse Lane did its last bulletin on the Sunday and Quarry Hill did its first in Breakfast on Monday.

So what was different technically that Leeds did their move overnight, but it took Birmingham 2 & half days to get back on air after their move?

It was probably necessity to be honest - Leeds is involved in Belmont opting for the Hull programme, so they probably had to get Quarry Hill into circuit ASAP otherwise Hull wouldn't be able to provide a programme for their own area, let alone Leeds's.

Something is certainly happening in Norwich, whether it affects on screen or not who knows. Today's bulletin again came from Cambridge, and made use of Janine Minchin, one of the Close Up presenters. The weather forecast was provided by Chris Fawkes. Their certainly seems to be a commitment to Sunday forecasts - I'd expected it to be dropped.

As has been pointed out, that was definitely Oxford's studio! A different set is in it these days, but that was the first set, so it shows how long it has been since a pan-regional South Today has come from anywhere other than Southampton!

The second studio in Southampton was originally the home of the Oxford opt, but since 2005, has been used only very occasionally (usually during safety testing in the main studio).
