Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but is S4C's Newyddion using new Lambie-Nairn titles and graphics yet?

I watched the start of Newyddion on Friday, and they were still using:

Thanks for that.

Do you think someone forgot to ask Lambie-Nairn to make them some titles? Wink

It would seem so.

Newyddion will probably end up with something nigh-on identical to what Wales Today now have, seeing as those titles have both the globe/world and a map of Wales in them.

The only differences would be that the placenames would be in Welsh, and the endboard would have the globe rather than Wales, with "BBC Cymru" written in the red box.

Sounds like a mock waiting to happen...

I sense your next project coming on Martin. Might be worth sending it to them too - they could be grateful. Wink

Does anyone have the ability to send me some Full Resolution video captures of the titles for Newsline, Reporting Scotland, and Wales Today.

I can only capture from Freeview these days, and as such, only get London news...

How can a regional news junkie (such as myself) possibly live without Sky? Wink

I have sky, but when I got my new computer I decided to get a new TV Tuner, and it has no inputs, and so I can only capture from the freeview channels, but I can watch the Sky Channel.

I can certainly get them for you Martin. Would avi files be OK? If you tell me what you mean by 'full resolution' I can do it accordingly. Obviously most of the video caps I put on here (via photobucket) are flvs of lower quality. I'll set the Sky+ to get the Scottish & Welsh tomorrow and NI on Wednesday.

That would be brilliant, you would probably have to send them via some site like megaupload if they are avi files...

By full resolution I mean 1024x576px

Is there any particular reason that S4C news isn't branded as "S4C Newyddion"? I would have thought, especially after their new-look, they would be quite keen to have their flagship news programme carrying the station's name (even if it's got BBC branding stamped all over it).

I don't know, but it's probably got something to do with the fact that the BBC are providing it under a PSB remit and can't have a commercial channel's name slapped on it within the UK.

Also, if the BBC are basically "obliged" to produce it, under PSB, that means that S4C aren't a "paying customer" (e.g. like Channel 4 is a "paying customer" of ITN, for news provision). Therefore, S4C are presumably not in a position to dictate to the provider (BBC) what branding is used. (?)
