For the time being that's true. But the amount of Gloucestershire coverage on BBC Midlands is minimal compared to BBC West. Furthermore,
if you live in the Ridge Hill serviced area in Gloucestershire, and choose to get your pictures by satellite or cable rather than off your aerial, you'll get BBC West. The Beeb have also said they'll provide BBC West for north Gloucestershire from Ridge Hill on DSO, which will bring it in line with ITV West.

Sorry to go a little o/t, but does anyone know how that will work? Will Ridge Hill carry two full versions of the PSB1 Mux?

Dunno how it'll be done. The regional manager said this would happen in a local newspaper after complaints from people in Gloucester that those who get their pictures off their aerial in the Ridge Hill area have to put up with Midlands, which we don't relate to.

It has an extra PSB mux allocated post DSO.

See (pdf) page 6 here:-

Not clear whether that will be a BBC or ITV/4 mux. It only needs to carry BBC 1 West and HTV West, so both channels could be at 12 Mb/s each Very Happy They won't be of course.

Interesting. I presume BBC One West and ITV1 West will have to be allocated different LCNs unless they expect viewers to fiddle about manually allocating channels on their Freeview boxes to get their chosen region on 1 and 3.

Having been up in Look North land since the rebrand, I hadn't seen BBC London's attempt until now. How have they managed to make the graphics look worse than the other regions, even though they're supposed to be standardised?

As ever with BBC London's graphics, the LIVE and location text is not centered in their boxes, the straps flash abruptly onto the screen rather than animate or fade, and for some reason the location bug is white instead of black. As one of the regions that is supposed to have upgraded to Vizrt, why have they still not got it right?

Its better than when they first launched the new look, the Live and Location was outside the safe area and would disappear as soon as a name aston would appear on screen.

The website aston animates on screen and also on the 6.30 programme the copyright and date aston animates too.

Personally I prefer the white location aston as opposed to the black, but I wish they would make their mind up about closing the bulletins we get the titles played out again (but some images cut out) with varying music - they sometimes use the extended close, sometimes some of the other stings!

On the LIVE and location BUGs; is there a reason that NWT doesn't have a location, just a LIVE?

Instead of saying that why can't you just ask someone to record and upload?

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but is S4C's Newyddion using new Lambie-Nairn titles and graphics yet?

I watched the start of Newyddion on Friday, and they were still using:
