I've put the new Look East titles on YouTube: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mhyuw23KMW8

Just a quick note that if you are using the new YouTube player, and watching the high quality video, it will appear as an anamorphic video rather than 16:9. It's a bug on the player with 16:9 HQ videos, just change to full screen and back, and all should be well.

Stuart and ME?!!!!!!! Shocked

Yep - what is wrong with that?

"Hello from Stewart and I" would be incorrect.

I didn't say it was gramatically incorrect. I was saying it seems ludicrous to refer to yourself as "me". Who's "me"?

How long have Susie & Stewart been the lead presenters for Look East? Must be at least 10 years. They're both very well known across the region, and for those who don't know their names, there was a caption shortly afterwards.

I couldn't quite remember and was piecing items together in my mind and found the answer thanks to TV Ark.

Susie took over the hot seat in 1997, when Penny Bustin left BBC East. Penny left for charity work, and then was seen occasionally in one of the BBC North Regions.

Susie and Stewart have therefore been presenting for over ten years together. Look East do have a generally stable team. Stewart has been co-presenter since 1984!

Julie Reinger has been with the programme since February 1999.
Kim Riley has been there since 1982.
Shaun Peel joined the programme in 1998 - how sports coverage has changed since then.

I think she was at East Midlands Today before joining Look East too.

Look East certainly has a larger presenting team than some regions but i guess this may be because it is such a large region to cover. Spanning all the way from Norwich all the way to here in Northamptonshire. Northants is actually a bit weird when it comes to regional tv. Seems to be a triple cross over zone as i can get Anglia News (West), Central News (East) BBC Look East (West) BBC East Midlands Today & BBC Look North all on analogue. But some people i know in the south of the county get BBC South Today?!

They do have quite a stable team. Sally Chidzoy has been there since the 80s, Andrew Sinclair and Alex Dunlop since the mid-90s, and Amanda Goodman has been presenting Close-Up from Cambridge since it launched over 11 years ago (though with some time off to have a family)

Don't know if Richard Bond and John Cranston are still there - but they've been there since the mid 90s as well.

OT hypothetical question - If Suzie moves to a different region / broadcaster, would she be known as Suzie Fowler-Watt or Suzie Dunlop? Confused:

Richard Bond certainly is, I saw a report of his just last week.

I presume Susie Fowler-Watt - they did mention the wedding when her and Alex married, so I imagine that she has either decided to keep her name, or use it professionally.

Ah, didn't watch it for long enough to see the caption.

Nevertheless I still think it sounds a bit untidy. Perhaps a "Good evening, welcome to Look East" would be more suitable.

Is it me or maybe I have just missed it but for some reason has the BBC TV English Regional News on BBC East Midlands Today stopped using the globey / swirly effect that wipes accross the screen during the Headlines on the Opening Titles ?
