Good for them, if that's true. I''m not happy about this new style which insists that all 'English Regions' have the same music and similar titles. BBC North West had ace titles, which were only a few months old. For this part of the country, this new 'corporate look' is a downgrade, as far as I'm concerned.

The South Today ones are not that great & the place names seem to be a bit screwed up. BBC Oxford, as it's now known, has it's own opening titles with local place names, but South Today (Southampton) also has loads of "Oxford" place names, including some which are not even in the region (Milton Keynes & Tring spring to mind!) I'm sure Ramsgate is in there somewhere too & Dorset seems to be only represented by Bournemouth & Poole... Rolling Eyes

Well i've just watchd Look North online and its the new titles there, so must have been an error on their behalf . True the music is very back to 1999 dated which i really don't like. Part of it is ok it just needs tweaking a bit.
Look North Leeds looks a lot better though studio wise doesn't look as Fake as it did.

Don't forget that Oxford being a sub-opt means that at weekends, breakfast, 1 o'clock and on Bank Holidays the Southampton programme goes out in the Oxford region, hence why South Today's titles include place names from the Oxford region. I'd agree that Tring is a bit fringe-y, but the Oxford Transmitter is receivable in large parts of Milton Keynes, a chunk of Swindon, bits of Gloucestershire, even as far as Cirencester.

Today's Look North Leeds used a shorter sting version that I haven't seen before. From last week the main weekday bulletins all used the full opening titles, wheras up to the week before only the 6.30 used the full titles

Hmmm - Milton Keynes has always officially been in the Look East region in recent years though. So much so that they were considering relocating the Cambridge sub-opt operation there until those plans were revised recently...

AIUI this is because Milton Keynes residents are mainly served by cable rather than rooftop aerials (unusually for the UK), and the cable system carries Look East/Anglia as the main BBC One/ITV feeds, with London and Oxford/Central available as options?

Cirencester has its own relay of Mendip, not Oxford.

Look North West to be precise, but I still hear occassionally from the elderly folk Look North, rather than North West Tonight.
