Are behind the scenes pictures of any interest? As part of the BBC Channel Islands index (bbc.co.uk/jersey/tv) I'm thinking of doing a few behind the scenes galleries of the studio, gallery and editing suite.

Is it worth doing or is it all a bit boring and old hat?

I can do the studio one today if it's something that would be of interest but the gallery would have to wait until May as it's being refit then.

Yes, please. As much detail as you and your colleagues deem appropriate.

Spare no nerdyness, sir.

Leeds must have the capability as the Super League Show does the BBC Sport graphics, including animations. But Look North doesn't animate the astons at all. Is it that it'd be too much for a gallery to do all the time instead of just once a week so it's left simple?

Don't forget that Leeds has two galleries - it may only be available in the main gallery, so they've kept it simple so that Breakfast and weekends match.

Although I presume it's only Breakfast that uses the smaller gallery (are you sure there's two?) - and they don't have astons, just the dodgy Powerpoint 'Morning Extra'!

Also on the headlines issue - Leeds seem to have bucked the trend and recently moved from pre-recording them to doing them live.

Re the recent tweaks to NWT's presentation that ashleyb highlighted, I think the maroon scrolling message and sharper colour on the image of Salford Quays improves what was looking quite a drab studio on Monday.

Although the excellent NWT August 07 titles have, alas, been retired, the more corporate look adds gravitas to the regional output somehow. In this age of comfy sofa studios and a general shift towards more fluff, that's quite welcome.

Strangely I noticed this morning that when going into the weather forecast, the 'Morning Extra' is replaced with the red 'BBC LOOK NORTH' DOG and an adjoining clock, matching the BBC News Channel one. It's the same as used throughout Look North NE&C's morning bulletins.

Indeed it's been doing it since Monday... I can't understand why they haven't updated the 'Morning Extra' if they have the new graphics 'underneath'. Bizarre... but it is Look North!

Especially when the Morning Extra graphics incorporates an interpretation of the old Breakfast clock using the Swiss font. Then suddenly it changes to the new format in Gill.
