So far from what I've seen here so far the Newsline revamp seems to be the most impressive, but I do have one piece of criticism, they need to sort out the lighting around the weather screen. I couldn't make out the photo in the video clip from earlier in this forum.

The Newsline headline sequence and sport plasma graphics are using similar templates which were introduced around 2001-2002. But at least they have the rightly proportioned BBC logo across the new branding! Wink

That strap at the bottom of the screen in NWT's studio is horrible. You can't read all of it, even though we know it says "BBC North West Tonight". It's pointless. Also, the Salford Quays picture is pointless.

The Reporting Scotland studio looks a bit " whiter " around the lower half of the background tonight. They seem to have been experimenting with new camera angles when they have a " two shot " of the presenters too.

Do the Reporting Scotland astons just use the swipe effect? I thought they were all Vized up.

They have actually ruined North West Tonight Sad
The images on the screens behind the presenters in black and white jus seem lifeless and boring compared to what we had for 7 months with the red swirl affect!

The Salford seems pointless as a backing now that it's clearly not a live shot as we used to have back in the day.

The recent tweaks that were made seemed promising particularly the titles which were so similar to the BBC News C-hannel countdown but they've just taken all the life out of them Sad

The studio could have been tweaked to coincide with the new look... maybe a red or orange background instead of blue? replacing the frosty glass pannels next to the screens with an etched globe?

I know it may not be the worst region but they really have spoilt it Confused

Why can't all the straps just say BBC NEWS on the bottom part? Having the regional names (particularly long ones like NWT's) looks awful. It'd be nice if they all animated properly too like the national ones.

I'll add my name to the "NWT has taken a step backwards" list, their old (yet still new) look was great.

I totally agree! Maybe if we hadn't had the recent (old) change with new titles and upgrade in studio then it would be a step forward but giving us something that looked quite amazing and replacing it with something that is fairly... boring? just doesn't seem right Sad

Just me or does that look bigger then N6?

Its a massive studio, there used to be two sets within that studio - one for Newsline and the other for all sorts of local programming. By the looks of it they've turned the Newsline set around, I wonder if theres still room for another set below were the camera is - I assume so.

From someone who has been in that studio, it's not actually that big. It's a midsize thin studio. The other sets (sports and Hearts And Minds) were struck pretty much under where that camera viewpoint is.

The main change has been the repositioning of the Newsline desk. That has been turned 90 degrees to the left (the other side of the set back wall is the studio doors), and the weather stand up position is where the old newsline pres desk was positioned.

Have to say BBCNI excel again. The new set looks really good.

Is the politics show part of BBC News ?

If so how does this fit into the rebrand in BBC TV Regional News studios ?

Just seen the opening to BBC London - I presume the pre headlines sequence is pre recorded. I find it strange that the opening was done in front of the screen, then straight after the titles the presenters sitting down.
