On BBC 5 Live's "Up all Night" programme (at least when Rhod Sharp was presenting), an ABC bulletin was always played at 2.05am (ever since 1994). Recently, however, this has changed to CBS.

It always used to be every weeknight and was the Midnight (UK time) bulletin. An ISDN was dialled, the bulletin recorded and the ads edited out ready to be played at 2:05am.

"All over Britain it's five past two....."

Five past eight in Little Rock, Arkansas... or something similar

CBS News correspondent Manuel Bojorquez just presented a report on BBC World about the Mexico City earthquake signing off as: This is Manuel Bojorquez, CBS News for BBC News, Mexico City. Sounded really clunky. I guess the BBC wanted to make sure their audience knew who their reporters are and who isnt. Typically I've heard in the past something like " Manuel Bojorquez for BBC News, Mexico City.'

Are you sure you haven't heard them signing off as 'Name, CBS News' - I've not seen any CBS reports on the BBC so far where the sign-off has been changed to BBC News rather than CBS?

Never said that. That was given as an example. Rolling Eyes
Like say for the relationship with NBC and ITN/ITV

I rewound a live report during the last half hour of GMT and indeed it was "Manuel Bojorquez, CBS News for BBC News."

I'm just guessing here, but it's possible the form of words for the 'standard outcue' hasn't been communicated to all CBS reporters. Or it's possible that there isn't an agreed SOC at all and it's just being busked.
