I was exactly the same. Be interesting to know how many (or rather, few) people are currently staffing the galleries.

Wouldn't many of the people in the gallery be BECTU members, so not on strike?

As Noggin just pointed out, I'd simply forgotten. The lack of producers is an interesting point though.

Out of interest if they did struggle to find anyone to present during a shift like this, would it be possible for a producer or a senior manager (with some vague qualification) who would presumably have no prior experience to present instead?

BBC World is showing the repeat of the previous hour of BBC WN America.

Shame they couldn't have shown this on the NC, but I guess they'd have the adverts issue to deal with.

But presumably the EPGs haven't been adjusted. Having said that if the galleries should be near-normal in terms of engineering staff (for want of a better phrase) could they not have edited out the ads as per normal?

Well that'll certainly endear them to all their colleagues.

Really? That is surprising. I wonder if there will be any other high-profile presenters. Odd as well that Louise will have done 7 days in a row.

News of Louise and Charlie's apparent decision spreading like mad on Twitter. Re: Previous comments about the presenters through the last strike, I wonder how it would affect fairly high-profile, senior presenters compared to fairly unknown, junior presenters.

I'm guessing this isn't going to be like it was last time, then.

Wouldn't be surprised if Naga was freelance given she appeared presenting that paranormal live programme on Living last weekend.

While that may be, you'd still think freelance presenters like her would stay away from something like this.

If you mean she's probably contracted to present it - which wouldn't surprise me as she presents most Weds-Fridays - then you've got a different matter.

Rico Hizon working too, by the way.
