I always assumed Newswatch is recorded. Could it have been recorded yesterday even?

I've got to be honest, you really wouldn't know there was a strike going on watching the Six when thinking about content. Plenty of two-ways, it's 'live' enough. A job well done I reckon.

Kate Riley is presenting the short BBC Look East Bulletin, a regular Sports Presenter for the region and other news reporter.

Edit not sure if there is a West Opt out tonight?

Newcastle have joined Leeds again for a Christa Ackroyd presented bulletin. Peter Levy is in Hull.

Surprised Newcastle haven't been able to get something on air, even the Channel Islands opt is on.

Last time around Newcastle didn't manage an opt at all until the 2225 so this seems much more preferable. Back then Stephen Cole or whoever specifically avoided mentioning regional news and just left a gap after the headlines for the regions that were able to do a programme to opt out, before carrying on for a bit longer to sustain the feed for those who didn't.

Are all the regional weather forecasters at work, too? Are the regional forecasters employed by the BBC or the Met Office?

Only those of us in the know will have noticed much of a difference at 1pm.

Two examples being:

"Hello welcome to BBC News" instead of "Good afternoon and welcome to the BBC News at One" at the start.

The opt out point at 1:25 was big enough to drive a bus through

"This is BBC News...................................................................................... The weather now with Nick Miller"

Christa Ackroyd with Look North again in Yorkshire and in NE&C, it also features a story from the North East regarding a factory fire.
