I have to say from what I've seen so far, I'm very impressed with how they've coped with it, the casual viewer would barely have noticed if it wasn't for the news reports on the situation. Bravo!

And to think the press claimed we'd get 2 minutes of headlines an hour! Remarkably small amount of filler in what I've seen today - though in a funny way I guess continual breaking news really helps with this.

But I'd be more interested to know how another company - ITN or Sky - would cope in a strike like this. The BBC has such a high number of staff it can better cope with something like this, but what about a smaller organisation?

Our World: Outside Burma on just now - presumably for half an hour.

Creditable effort, to only lose an hour in the key 0600 - 1800 period is good.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but the regional news is cut to five minutes this evening - followed by Wild Weather.

How many regions won't be able to put together enough to make it on air? I guess Look East (Cambridge) won't based on their size and picket.

Wonder if that's as a sustaining feed for regions that can't do a full half hour, but those that can fill it will?

Though weirdly a longer broadcast at 1025 - 1032 which either means we'll probably get a longer weather forecast, more padding via trailers or a little early running.
