Chris Rodgers at 5pm

Beat me to it, I am sure Emma needs an hour's break before presenting the Six

Looks like Chris Rodgers will be doing the Six tonight. We've had a run of ex Sky presenters doing the main bulletins today.

Wonder who'll do the Ten?

Strangely BBC World is showing a recorded bulletin. I guess World viewers can't get enough of Emma. Very Happy

The other option is that the decision has been made to provide Emma with an hours break to prepare for the BBC News at Six and then have Chris on through to Ten perhaps.

To avoid the continual truck/train coverage?

If the recorded bulletin was the from the first half of the last hour it will be far more relevant. The current output is running a breaking news story relevant to the UK only.

Who says Emma is doing the six?!? I'm not convinced that it will be either Chris or Emma

Newsround double headed presentation, and no auto cue & 'bite sized'

EDIT: Auto-cue I think is working.

Looks like this edition of newsround has been recorded (but upto date with the latest news),
from standing and reading from scripts, to sitting down on the sofa and standing up again, in the space of 1 minute.

I was VERY impressed by Gavin Grey on Breakfast this morning....he didn't seem to mess up at all like Aktar Khan or Susan Osman like on the last strike....
He seemed very in control of the programme and did a good job...perhaps we might see more of Mr Grey on BBC News in the future, aside from tomorrow perhaps.....

Apparently he kind of came out of retirement to do this stand in - he's an associate director of a media consultancy firm these days.

He was looking at the wrong cameras on a few occasions but yes, he did very well this morning I thought.

Quite a busy day for Breaking News. I haven't seen any of today's BBC News, apart from Gavin Grey on Breakfast. I was half asleep when I was watching, but he certainly delivered the news in a professional, clear fashion. I suppose his offering was much better than Daybreak's. I didn't even bother to switch over to them.

Anyway, I hope that after these strikes the BBC snaps up Emma Crosby. Before reading the praise on the forum today, I always thought of her as a very capable journalist, wasted on GMTV. Get her on the BBC before CNN grab her!

I have to say from what I've seen so far, I'm very impressed with how they've coped with it, the casual viewer would barely have noticed if it wasn't for the news reports on the situation. Bravo!
