Are they playing a recorded Weather Update at 16:27?

Not sure but I didn't think the BBC showed all weather forecasts live on the news channel. I have certainly seen many examples of the News Channel and BBC1 showing different forecasts at the same time by the same forecaster.

Thanks it seemed Emma wasn't aware of a handover to the weather so we waited and then Emma introduced but , Louise seemed very much 30mins ago as in the way she welcomed us.

BBC News Helicopter out according to Emma at the scene of the Train Accident with cement mixer falling onto the tracks

EDIT: Emma seems to be convinced it is a BBC News Helicopter. Twice mentioning it.

.... some breaking news coverage now on the train accident.

BBC helicopter is not on strike. Very Happy

Quite lucky breaking news to be honest - gives them chance for Sky News style continuous helicopter footage of not much happening. Certainly easier to produce than a proper report!

Sky News Helicopter is out there too, but the pictures have broken up unlike the BBC Exclamation

And that's the problem. Some graphic shots that really shouldn't be going out live are, because its too big a call for anyone there to make.

Emma Crosby talking to a Jon Williams about the train accident. That Jon Williams wouldn't happen to be the BBC's World News Editor?

Emma Crosby is such a good newscaster. Not only can she present rehearsed, planned bulletins well but she can handle breaking news so smoothly, and with still such a friendly approach to those she's interviewing.

The BBC should do everything they can to make sure she doesn't get away from them.

I'm glad Emma got this little break on BBC today, especially on News at 1. I was reading comments on Twitter and besides a small number of people calling her scab she's been praised by most, many saying they should sack some regulars and hire Emma. Very Happy

Anyway I hope BBC management sees this and gives her a permanent slot.
