My guess is either Witchell or Dobbie with the Five oclock News Hour and The Hub slot, simulcast on World and News 24.

Emma Crosby is still on at 4pm London.

News Watch expected on air 8.45pm on BBC News Channel - advert just played for it

That's no guarantee. It was advertised at 830pm last Friday, but got bumped because of the bomb plot breaking news!

A small, really small likeness to Bill Turnbull? You're right - Bill was wearing an almost identical poppy yesterday. The likeness stops there! LOL.

I actually do see what you mean, though. Very slight resemblence.

They should not advertise a programme (which looks like it has been recorded Confused ), today which clearly would play (to fill time) and then not play it

Not convinced we'll see Nicholas Witchell presenting on TV - surely he's more likely to be on the radio?

I was VERY impressed by Gavin Grey on Breakfast this morning....he didn't seem to mess up at all like Aktar Khan or Susan Osman like on the last strike....
He seemed very in control of the programme and did a good job...perhaps we might see more of Mr Grey on BBC News in the future, aside from tomorrow perhaps.....

I always assumed Newswatch is recorded. Could it have been recorded yesterday even?

Actually, on the subject of Gavin Grey. Never mind his likeness to Bill Turnbull, does anyone thing he actually looks like a young Richard Dimbleby??

He has a very traditional hairstyle, almost Etonian, and very Dimbleby.

Amelia Harris taken over from Adnan with the Sports roundup.

It could of easily of been a previous recorded advert from weeks ago, I can't remember if it stated anything or not.

For the first time I've seen today, Emma Crosby elaborated on a very UK definition so that us World viewers would understand it. (She explained who "Network Rail" was, in the context of the current breaking news story of a lorry falling off a bridge on top of a train).

Braces-wearing City Industry expert in the studio now, padding where the Biz Anchor would normally fill-in.

They report that "there were flashing headlamps from a No 22 London bus." Seems unlikely - the 22 goes nowhere near Wood Lane. Perhaps they meant 220?
