Some of the 'fluffy filler' reports today are beginning to get ridiculous. Some army guys exercising while Eric Prydz - Call on Me plays in the background....

The biggest test will be tomorrow as they tend to have less staff in on Saturday anyway.

Rachael Hodges did the 2:30 news on 5live.

Given how many big guns have turned up for work I doubt the second strike will go ahead.

I wouldn't call her a big wig.

Its quite funny watching the World presenters and sports reporters struggle to remember theyre broadcasting in the UK.

It was great to see Peter Dobbie on the news channel again. I remember when he uses to present on BBC News 24. Anyone know why he was moved to World News?

Not yet perhaps but a rising star, lovely voice and easy on the eye as well.

I think the biggest challenge will be today as the public would normally be expecting a full news output and less at weekends.

David Cowling, Head of BBC Politcal Research, does the Political Reporting again.

Exactly. Tomorrow should be virtually normal service...with programmes in the back half hours and if Emma Crosby and Peter Dobbie are willing to do full length weekend shifts that's half the day covered already.

What's going to happen to Newyddion?

I notice UK news is the bit that's being left hanging. Sky news have been reporting a large fire and explosion in the north of england that hasn't made it on air on BBC News yet.

Still very impressed by Emma Crosby, and it was great to see Peter Dobbie this morning. Given everything, I think the Beeb have both done very well and been very lucky so far.

There are still three regional bulletin slots today after the news at 1 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 10 o'clock. Watch out for some unfamiliar faces presenting bulletins!

Hasn't been mentioned here yet, but the lunchtime BBC South bulletin was presented by Jason Horton, who I believe is the Head of BBC South?

There were picture problems for the first couple of minutes, they were fixed shortly afterwards. He did a good job in my opinion.
