Funnily enough that was before all of her dancing/charity crap. That turned her into an entertainment presenter, henceforth, people cant take her seriously anymore.

I'm sorry, I forgot that dancing hindered one's ability to present a news programme.

I just can't watch Angela Rippon these days. Or Nicholas Owen. Or practically every BBC News presenter who, at some point in their career, will have done a cringe-worthy dance routine for Children in Need.

And let's not forget Moira Stuart in Extras. Jeremy Thompson in Shaun of the Dead. Sophie Raworth in Little Britain. I don't recall these appearances resulting in a loss of journalistic credibility.

Nick Owen co-hosting the 6 O'Clock News. Didn't think this would happen any time soon.

He did it for the first time a few weeks ago. Dont forget not to be confused with BBC Midlands Todays Nick Owen!

As much as I like Nick, I wish he'd read web addresses properly. Just about every time he has to read it out he says bbc.co./news
