If Huw's down the road then you know something serious has happened in your area. It's rather funny but I agree on the decision of sending the main newsreader to the scene as it gives a sense of the atmosphere and seriousness of the story.

Where are all you anti Natasha posters - She's doing the TEN!

Tomights err... tonight's main news again.

Need I say more?

Oh and she seems to have caught GA's head swinging condition.

I've got to say, I like her. I Thought she was pretty good tonight. I could probably find something annoying with every newsreader if I tried, but for me, Natasha is pretty good and I really like her and George together on the Six.

Don't forget the giggling! ''It's been ten years since the death of Prince, sorry Princess Diana (smile, turns head to George and laughs)...''

You should all take a look at this - quite entertaining and I'm sure many of you would agree.

He has a point and it's one i've seen made a few times before by others in the media.

I'd prefer the old situation where we had newsreaders who were generally more intelligent than a lot of the viewers. Also if the newsreader was at least held in some respect by the public then I might be bothered to sit through one of their bulletins.

Changing the subject slightly, does anyone know wether Louise Minchin now officially works on the One? EVERY Friday or when Sophie's away Louise seems to be the first choice. And why isn't Emily on the one anymore?

Oh this is going on over two threads now - leave the journalist alone.

I fainted a few minutes in and had to recover by keeping my eyes glued to Newsnight for the rest of the evening.

Put it this way, surely television newscasters should be made up of Britains most talented journalists [and yes, things like looks and age do play a part Embarassed]. So if a major story broke and Natasha was shipped out, do you think she would be capeable of producing top quality anchoring?

If she struggles to read lines of an autocue I'd hate to see her on News 24 or something during breaking news - she'd be terrible! If it weren't for Strictly Come Dancing and the fact she is a popular presenter on other genres, do you honestly believe she would have beaten someone like Sian Williams, Moira Stuart or Jane Hill to the post of one of the most senior (newsreading) jobs on the BBC? Look at someone like Jane Hill - she ANCHORED [something Kaplinsky doesn't even know the meaning of] for eight hours strait when Sadam was captured - Kaplinsky would have started announcing the entertainment news...

What journalist?

Although I must admit she just about passed as adequate last night.

I quite agree with the above, she is a TV personality primarily, not a newsreader. I don't think that she is primarily 'half' an anchor, she was much better and much less distracted on her own last night. Perhaps George keeps dangling a ball of wool over her head (ref. Dead Ringers).

There is a wealth of talent they could use on the six, Susanna, Sian, Louise, Emily etc. all cast shadows over Natasha.

The people who work at the BBC do have lifes you know - Natasha is obviously available to work and put her name down to fill in. There is nothing wrong with her to be honest - some people are so sensative. She reads the scripts and introduces each news piece. Not exactly effecting you.
