It rings truth. ''Flagship'' news presenters such as Huw Edwards or Mark Austin, turning up at a scene of a news story, only accentuate the seriousness of the story they are covering. There's really no point for them being at the scene at all. Newsreaders should read the news from the news desk, not replace the reporter.

The style and delivery of news has been evolving for years. I agree it is not always necessary to send a presenter out on location, but there are times when it does add to the quality of the programme.
I suppose if you were head of news at the BBC, we'd still be stuck with the greying gent and the dolly bird.
And as for me name dropping - erm, not at all. It's just very tedious when you log on here and the same old anti Natasha bile is still on the stove. I know her, so what. I was hardly bragging.
