I disagree strongly. Gavin Hewitt is, along with Matt Frei, one of the best creators of TV News packages in the business. He might not be doing the camerawork, but he creates far more imagery than your usual reporter through his script. He's got gravitas and creativity and I always sit up and listen when one of his reports come on.

I'm not suggesting we go American and have
Flood Correspondents
but it just seems odd to me to have only one correspondent deemed important enough to be the bearer of big news,
and one who I must say rarely adds much to the story.

I admit I chose the wrong words there, what I meant to say was due to what I feel is overexposure to his style it has become a tad predictable, in a similair fashion to Mark Austin's "it started as any other happy day" intros on ITV News. Having Ben Brown or another senior correspondant in the field would add a bit more variety.

Put someone like George or Dermot or BIG MOIRA on with him and it'd be a fantastic pairing. Nick Owen eclipses Kerplunksky magnificently.
And about time he was on the Six .

I presume its just cause there is not many staff around atm - George is away for the majority of August so should be relief presenters on.
