Think that's a technical problem on your side because it came through fine here.

I heard the update in the South East region too. What would cause Calum141 to hear just the titles though? What region are you in?

I believe you're mistaken for looknorth - assuming he is in the "North" region.. well there's three Look North's but probally a problem there. I heard it all fine

Who is presenting the six tonight? Natasha Kaplinsky is at Downing Street, where George was yesterday. So who is in the studio?

Excellent film of behind the scenes on BBC News. The late nineties 9 o'Clock News Set was remarkably small and "officelike" behind the scenes.

Good to catch a very small glimpse of Moira in action too, presenting the Six alongside (rarely) Andrew Harvey.

And, what does the opening of the One mean when someone screams "cue charisma"? Is it charisma in the true sense, or was it a nickname for a graphics feature? (Genuine question)

That was an interesting programme. Thanks for that.

Didn't those CRT monitors look old Confused , and all that green text on the screen. Although it was 18 years ago, we've come a long way!

I'm surprised they didn't get alot of noise from the NINE newsroom during the broadcast seeing as one whole side of the set was actually open to it. I supposed they must've all just krept around and kept the noise down for 30 minutes.

Which studio was that? Does it still exist or has it been turned back into offices?

Watching that on YouTube there is also a link to a Huw Edwards short programme about the SIX in the beige days. Good shots of N6 as it was set up then, alot of space wasted with the back-projection screens. Far more efficient use of the space now with the Barco screens. How technology moves on, quite amazing really. Very Happy

Charisma is a DVE unit - Digital Video Effects. Haven't seen the clips yet, but probably used for the effect used on the headlines in the opening sequence of the One of that era?

Once again, no South Today at 6.25am this morning, BBC London instead. No apology on the 6.55am bulletin.

"animate charisma" is what he says. It appears to be the bit of kit that animaes the logo out of the way as the camera pans down. Admittedly not very well, I expect it was a manual camera move and a set animation unlike today when they could tie them together seamlessly.
