Giving Sophie back the 6 wouldn't work.

Reading the article when she moved to the 1 she said it was the perfect arrangement because she still got to see her kids!

Please remember that when people like looknorth demand presenter shift changes they don't actually think that they have lives outside News 24 and don't think of it as a job like any other where staff request shift changes to suit their personal circumstances.

This is why rota threads are so stupid too and should all be banned.

Looknorth, here's an idea - now that Konnie Huq has decided to leave Blue Peter, don't you think that she would a perfect replacement for Natasha Kaplinsky if, as you suggest, the BBC decide it's time for Natasha to "move onto other projects"? In fact, I was also thinking that Fearned Cotton would be good on the Six? She would add a bit of human interest. What do you think?

In her question and answer section, Sophie Raworth says “if you want a career in TV news, make sure you're a journalist first and foremost.” Is Kaplinsky a trained journalist?

Well she must be, otherwise she'd be out on her ear like Moira.

I know that the BBC will leave the BBC Television & Radio News headquarters in BBC Television Centre's Stage 6 in around 2010.

But does anyone know what will happen to the vast newsroom and
its facilities when the BBC leaves? It is a massive newsroom as I have visited it there twice in the past three years. What will happen to it?

Also BBC Television Centre itself is in doubt as BBC Resources is to be sold off to an independent company by the end of this year. So with both these things happening soon will TV Centre be left as a shell as News, Sport & Children's Television move out by 2011?

It is an interesting question to me as i have heard rumours that as present BBC TV Centre is already being underused as many productions go to the London Studios, Fountain Studios, Elstree, Pinewood etc. So when News, Sport & Children's leave TV Centre, will it be the end of the TV Centre?

What do you think?

Ah, but Kerplunksky is young and (some would argue) good-looking. And she gives the tabloids something to talk about when they're not cashing in on Madeleine or Diana.
