Major cock-up on the ten there, during a report on the tragic death of a policeman stabbed in Luton this morning they listed the last three officers to be killed on duty, ignoring Richard Gray who was shot dead in Shrewsbury last month. The story wasn't widely reported in the first place as it was while half the BBC was looking for Madeleine McCann. Quite shocking.

The story of Richard Gray led on all national output on the Sunday - being the top story the next day on Monday's Breakfast.
Four correspondents were sent to Shrewsbury and a series of OBs were conducted from the scene.
I, therefore, find your arguement extremely 'loose'.

From what I remembered that story did not lead many bulletins or the website but I do not wish to get into an argument over such a trivial matter when someone has lost a life.
My main point however was that they did not include this death in their report yesterday, which is very poor journalism by anyones standards.

I can kind of understand your point, perhaps it would have aided the story to provide contextual reference to the Shrewsbury shooting but the nature and events were very different.
It is my understanding of the story that the police officer involved was stabbed - not shot as was the case in Shrewsbury - and was responding to a public incident - rather than a domestic one. Of course, that's not to omit the very blantant fact that this was the death of a police officer but the nature was different.
What I do find odd however is the McCann reference. These stories have seemingly little in comparative substance and the story of the police shooting, in comparison with the missing child story, was been placed ahead of the McCanns.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but I've noticed recently on the 6 that the presenters no longer stand up for the headlines.
I think this is perhaps this is a good move if it's permanent. There is a time and a place for standing to read the news, but the headlines everyday isn't one of them.

I think the opening shot needs working on that follows the titles though. Maybe more of a higher camera shot that drops down towards the desk to show off the set?
