That studio was N8 as well, they moved out for 4-6 weeks in 2003 while it was refurbished into what it is now. In the meantime they operated from a CSO set in TC7.

Here's a brief recap for you of the last 16 years:
BBC1 News
I won't go back any further than 1993 here. From 1993-1999, this news came from studio N2. In 1999, it moved to N6. It has been there ever since.
BBC World
BBC World launched in 1991. It was initially in N1 but shortly after, it moved to N3. In 1993, it moved back to N1 and stayed put until 1998 when it moved into N9. It has been in N9 until the present day.
BBC News 24
BBC News 24 launched in 1997 and initially came from N9. In 1998, it moved to N8 (with BBC World moving into N9, as above). It has been there ever since.
You have to remember that even though the channels look different from time to time, they don't actually swap to a new area of TVC. All the various sets you have seen since 1998 on N24 have all been in N8. Similarly, all the BBC World sets since 1998 have been in N9.

News 24 doesn't use a projected background. Its set is right in the middle of the newsroom.

so why didnt they keep the real newsroom as the backdrop insted of a projected image, seeing the news done for real in the proper newsroom behind was much better than a projected image,it would seem more logic to keep the real newsroom backdrop aswell

The News 24 set has also been rotated to face a different direction everytime it has been revamped giving more so an impression that it has moved to a new location, But as Rob says it has been in its current location since October/November 1998.

Right, here goes (and I think it's the best place for it to go).
Been watching World Business Report on The World Today for a while and it only just twigged and I asked myself "why aren't the straps like they are on the repeats?".
So I asked Damo (the eye for those not in the know
) to get some images for me and was surprised to see the usual WBR straps (with the blue and box on the left).
So when we on News 24 see:
