She is a very average newsreader, nothing more.

What I don't get is why she has being doing the news on BBC1 for a short period of time and she gets to do the BBC's flagship news programme, when there a LOTS of other newsreaders better then her.

The only reason I can think of why she is on BBC1 News is because of her looks.

No, its the bosses at BBC News, there is no other reason I can think of why she gets to do the Ten when there is many more talented people at the beeb.

I quite like Emily, and I don't think for a moment that she's got where she is just because of her looks. If she hadn't got a brain, she'd not last five minutes on the 10, let alone Newsnight.

However, that was a shocking outfit she was wearing last night. It looked disturbingly nautical, like something my mum might have bought from Dash in 1988.

have you considered that the pecking order theory in here does not exist and that its like any other job where they just get whoever will fill the space to do the job?

It would obviously be different if Emily got a regular shift on the ten, which would come in a pecking order over who was most experienced etc. Then again, is she only doing this slot as it's part of her new responsibilities of covering since she was kicked off of News 24. Seems to me like she's gone a really far way from BBC London to the ten! I don't think the BBC's decision was purely on experience or even looks, but finding her a new job since Joanna got News 24...

The ending titles have been made so they are quicker now, anyone notice?

The sting has, but not the credits. When I saw the new sting, I hoped they'd changed the music to the end of the programme, but they haven't!

I've only just caught up on the latest rumours to be floated around. I have to say, though, that if the Wikipedia entries had been true, it wouldn't be all that strange for Huw Edwards to move to The Daily Politics, Question Time, national and State occasions, etc. He has the background in politics, etc. Moreover, what nobody seems to have thought of is that if Huw had moved to this position, then it would mean that David Dimbleby would be doing something else. The last time I checked, there was a position available as the Chairman of the BBC. Obviousy, this isn't the case, but when thought about properly, there would have been some logic to the decision to move Huw to replace Dimbleby, at the very least. As there hasn't been any statement or release from the BBC regarding this, then it's obvisouly just another one of those annoying hackers who change things on Wikipedia. Those on this forum who considered the suggested move strange might want to reconsider.
