If I'm not mistaken but when strikes at such companies as BA are called on and off there is coverage of such events, why not at the BBC? It's been a long running dispute that connects with issues involving job losses, the reduced licence fee, impact of the government on public broadcasting... It's not exactly a minor story.

It was mentioned when it was cancelled. Strikes at BA are much more inconvenient for the public than when us BBC folk walk out. BA strikes cause disruption to customers ruining travel plans. The BBC strike plans received coverage when they were announced, but I don't think the cancellation deserved much more than a short read / oov, which is what we gave it.

See they've revised the story bug on the One...now has the BBC News logo, where the N24 logo is, and a grey/black strap above it with the headline.

I don't know why the BBC don't like the red globe for the headline, it was neat and worked. This was the second time that they changed it, the first time it had returned to the globe by the 6, so hopefully it will revert back to the globe tonight too.

Perhaps it's no good for people with visual impairments? They may not be able to read the text because the background is too busy?

I didn't like it; the text seemed squashed. It may have looked nice on NEWS 24, but it certainly didn't on BBC ONE.

But then again, the new one isn't much better...

Also, don't know if it was just me...but it always caught my attention to the screen, thinking it was breaking news. They seem to use much more of the videowall now anyway, rather than captions.

Why don't they just do away with those intro slogans altogether? I'm not sure what they really add. A proper inset over the newsreader's shoulder is much better.

I note that Moira Stuart is coming back to BBC TV on 16th March, presenting a documentary on BBC2. So, are her newsreading days finally over???? Crying or Very sad

Did anybody else just see that on the Ten? Nick Robinson was reporting from Downing Street for about 20 seconds on the fact that the BBC can't show a report Laughing

I'm paraphrasing here, but it pretty much went like:

"Nick, can you tell us more?",

"No, Fiona, the BBC has to stay schtum for the moment due to an injunction",

"Nick, thanks."
