Yet another cock-up with a simulcast. No headline bed for the 2200 news - it felt very slow and disjointed. It's amazing how much pace the bed gives to the headline sequence. Half way through, the Breakfast bed started (!) but was quickly silenced.

It was awful!

Was it the Breakfast bed though? Someone on the previous page said it was something from Entertainment 24 - I couldn't really tell.

Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but there's an interesting behind-the-scenes video from Newsnight here, which is apparently designed to try and get kids interested in the news.

Or here if you want it without the advert.

Was I the only one who got a strange back to basics test card yesterday complete with tone and movement (with Southampton and BBC switching)? It was very strange as I have never seen a test card of any kind on my Television and it still makes my hair stand on end thinking about it now!

Sounds like it was possibly a cock up with a local opt out.

BBC presenter Sophie Raworth has given birth to her third child.

The boy — Sophie's first son with her estate agent husband Richard Winter — weighed a formidable 10lb 11oz and has yet to be named.

Sophie will be back on the One 0 Clock news in late Summer

Source? If true, congratulations to Sophie.

Kate Silverton has been doing pretty good on the One O'Clock News. The amount of mistakes in the simulcast seems to have gone down since they first moved into News 24.

However I did notice a caption saying 'Lord GOLDSMITH QC' underneath one of the female reporters today which vaguely amused me.

Was I the only one who heard a very very loud whisper during the first fifteen minutes of today's 6 o'clock news? I hope I haven't started hearing voices...

Security alert at Heathrow - BBC absolutely miles ahead of Sky. They've got pictures from the chopper before Sky even appear to have mentioned it.

Broke on the BBC at 3.00, straight after the countdown.

Appeared on the Sky ticker before Kay mentioned it at 3.09pm.

Sky still without pictures.
