Newsnight's Stephanie Flanders is to replace Evan Davis as Economics editor.
Press Release
A decent appointment, she's always seemed to do a fairly good job when I've seen her, though I don't watch Newsnight that often.

Her presenting style comes over as very patronising imo. Shame that Evan is off to Radio 4, but I'm sure we will see him back in the den providing his so called 'expert analysis'!

Newsnight seems to be where the BBC's Economics Editors come from. Evan came from when he replaced Peter Jay.
I have seen quite a few of Stephanie's reports and think they are generally very good. I think it is a good appointment. Both Evan and Stephanie appear to know their stuff, and both be very good at engaging viewers in what can at times be very dry subject.

I imagine she would be a good option to take over from Ellie Crisell when she goes on maternity leave, having presented the evening BBC London bulletin I take it??
