I don't know where Fiona is, but for the first time in years, I'm going to wait until 10.30 and watch the ITV Nightly News with Alastair Stewart.
I'd much rather see a PROPER PRESENTER present the news

I understand what you are saying I would rather watch Alaistair to Emily but Emily is a proper presenter and very credible journalist.

I couldn't belive it when I saw it
She was awful. She made the best BBC news programme unwatchable.
If Fiona is off then where is Dermot ?? I know Natasha is also off today as Jane and Ben did the six tonight. And George no long does the ten because he present the World News Today at 12.00 which would mean one long shift.
It was bad enough having Ben on the Six tonight.

I agree Emily and Ben are absolutely dreadful. Emily comes across as just a frightened stuttering mouse, while Ben brings no feel and has wonky teeth (something which was once unheard of in news presenting). Infact, all of the BBC News presenters/reporters excluding Moira Stuart and Peter Sissons are rubbish nowadays

I would not go that far but the stand in presenter line up at the moment is awful. It looks as if the beeb will put anyone to stand in.
Why has the one not still got a deputy anchor???
Why has Ben become the co-deputy anchor of the six??? When there are many better presenters then him.
The problem with the ten is that a year ago it had 3 relief presenter to choose from if both Huw and Fiona were away (Dermot, George and Darren) now it only has one - Dermot.
