They handled the ending better than when the last time they shared N8 fir the One!

They have had to give it more thought this time because they will be sharing the one for the next few months.

Indeed, and hopefully they will have it all sorted properly when they return to N6.

With the upcoming re-branding...

They could make fundamental changes to the structure of each bulletin and trailer junction which would make this hand-over much simpler, and to make the switch to Breaking News or Blanket Coverage mode easier for News 24 coming out of a national bulletin...

Here is how the six looks in TC7. Nice desk, looks a lot more 'newsy' in TC7, lighting is better too.

can I ask how will the move of Neighbours to Five effect Six oclock news?

is there a chance of a dip in the ratings?

Well they are replacing neighbours with the Weakest Link which gets better ratings than Neighbours, so the ratings could actually go up.

I personally thought the desk looked awful - far too thin and anaemic, the backdrop seemed washed out, and George looked uncomfortable on that chair, plus the shots being a lot tighter so as not show the other end of TC7 made it feel more cramped than normal!

This is only day one, things will improve & flow more easily once everyone involved gets used to it. Remember when N24 decamped to the virtual set up a few years back. It took a day or so to get everything to flow properly, but when they did you could be forgiven for thinking they hadn't moved anywhere at all.

On another note am i right in thinking N6 is closed for 10 weeks? I pressume a few weeks are for fitting new kit and putting a new set in / modifying whats already there and another week or two for pilots?

that desk is hideous - and everything looks so tiny on that huge 'baking tray'. I suppose it will take some time to get used to but the lighting and stuff looks much better in there.

looking forward to the ten . . .

Yes..the size of the baking tray was very noticeable during 'Breakfast' - it's definitely better than having the sofa dumped just on the floor, but it did look a bit strange - I prefer the lighting though and we'll probably get used to it in a couple of weeks.
