BBC clearly taking the return of ITV's News at Ten seriously as there was just a rather extended plug for the Ten by Emily at the end of the One, and she said they'll be having an exclusive from John Simpson as well as an interview on the Madeline case.

I'd expect something similar at the end of the Six, and probably a few promos for it during primetime.

This sounds as desperate as when Gary Lineker advertises the next England World Cup match as being live on Five Live. Ignoring the fact that it is also live on ITV1

Great work from the BBC Ten O'Clock News tonight. Very risky for John Simpson to be in Zimbabwe. I guess if he got caught by the authorities he could be killed. Journalism at its best.

Although the report was good, I was disappointed that it was shown as part of a cheap way of pulling viewers from the News At Ten, helped by Huw Edwards who cropped up in every junction to promote the Ten.

If they weren't promoting it, all of you News at Ten fanboi's would be slagging them off for not taking News at Ten seriously.

It's a vicious market out there for News these days so it was evident that big stories and lots of plugs were going to be around this week. It will all cool down soon.

Slight cock up last night on BBC Two during the end credit squeeze on Horizon. They played a trail for the Ten and Huw said "Coming Up in a few minutesa here on One..." Surely news could either record two trails or word it in a way that could run on both channels...

Yes I noticed that. Drop the word "here" and it could be used across all channels.
