Nice to see George doing the six tonight. First time in quite a while now that he's done the six on a Friday.

Strange to have both Sophie and George on their bullitens on a Friday. I assumed with Sophie it was because Louise was in Liverpool, but perhaps it's to do with the Christmas holidays...

And Fiona on the summary at 8PM.

If there was depth to the greys, i.e. they looked metallic (a bit like the old Apple brushed metal), then it would look pretty cool - especially in HD.

Erm, no it wouldn't, it would look awful.

Is Fiona not the regular presenter of the 8pm summary on a Friday?

If News 24 is moving into the Nationals studio, it will be interesting to see what they do with big breaking stories during Breakfast. News 24 always had the option of switching away to cover the story more in depth. If it was a battle between the two, it would be Breakfasts responsibility to ditch the planned programme and focus on the breaking story, surely?

I'd agree with that and in the past with major news events Breakfast has done an altered programme focusing on the main news story in more depth until N24 opts out at 0830 and after that the features are then shown. I'd expect a similar sort of thing happening with most of the features being dropped for more in depth coverage.

Breakfast is moving back to TC7. So News 24 in N6 will still be able to switch away earlier if it needed to. So nothings changed in this respect.

BBC clearly taking the return of ITV's News at Ten seriously as there was just a rather extended plug for the Ten by Emily at the end of the One, and she said they'll be having an exclusive from John Simpson as well as an interview on the Madeline case.

I'd expect something similar at the end of the Six, and probably a few promos for it during primetime.
