You missed Dermot Murnaghan as well.

Yes, Francis Coverdale did the Six in the early days. In fact, she was one of the original stand-in anchors along with Jeremy Paxman. Eventually, Philip Hayton and Andrew Harvey became the regular stand-in presenters.
Smartt is Mike Smartt. He used to be a SE England Correspondent and then moved to occasional newsreading (weekends and summaries, etc). He eventually graduated onto stand in on the Six, occasionally the Nine and sometimes the One.
Sorry - can't believe I forgot Natasha Kaplinsky.
Who is Diana Modall? Do you mean Madill?? Did she actually do the Six??
Chris Lowe was a frequent stand in. Gavin Esler only did it once, IIRC. China Red era.

Debbie Thrower took over from Jan Leeming and Lynette Lithgow (RIP) as the BBC's weekend newscaster, and was such a hit with viewers that she was promoted to co-present the Nine.
She didn't like it so much though, and left the position after only one year. She used to present alongside John Humphrys and Martyn Lewis, IIRC.
Moira also presented the Nine alongside the likes of Martyn Lewis and John Humphrys too after the departure of Debbie T. I always felt that Moira was good as a second presenter on those programmes and wish she would come back as one. In those days, she used to present the Six for two days and the Nine for two days.
I also forgot all about Justin Webb on the Six too. He was quite good actually - kinda snobbish in a nice way.
I think many viewers of the BBC 1 news bulletins (with the exception of Charles Windsor) would also like to see Nicholas Witchell back behind the news desk. He was stable, sturdy and consistent IMO.

The Queen will sneeze later - they'll have a news special on that too!
The Television Media is at its worst at times like this. BBC News have been leading with 'Snow across *most* of the UK" all day. In reality they mean 'Snow in the South'.
I also like they way they say that the expected travel chaos didn't occur. But it was the same bulletin yesterday that was building up this expectation!
