I can see why they want to merge Nationals & N24 operations into the one studio, but all I'm thinking of how the ITV News Channel dealt with a similar situation.

Most of the time, they were in the Theatre of News, but being kicked out roughly 30mins before an ITV1 simulcast so it could be prepared for, & decamping to a CSO studio, or the London regional studio instead.*

It looked daft, so how would the Beeb cope?

* By the way, did any of the London ITV1 regional bulletins ever come from the CSO studio, with ITVNC remaining in the normal London studio, while ITV1 were in the Theatre of News?

Having had the misfortune to see the trial versions I'd hope it's either been quietly dropped or instead they opt to dumb it up and let Huw Edwards present.

Not sure about that but they used the old newsroom camera on a couple of occasions IIRC.

Where's George on tonights Six? Is Sian on single-headed?

I think Sian should be the new anchor on the six, have her do the 8 bulliten and a relief on the ten. Meanwhile have Nick Owen, Jane Hill and Ben Brown as relief presenters (and possible Sophie Raworth!)
