I'd have thought something like this...

Arrow January - Breakfast and 6 move into TC7
Arrow February - 1 and 10 move into TC10 with CSO background leaving N6 free for upgrade
Arrow April - News 24 moves into N6 leaving N8 free for upgrade
Arrow June - World moves into N8

Does this look realistic?

Unlike a few years ago TC10 (where News 24 decamped to for weeks a few years back when N24 got its current set) and TC11 (where Newsnight, Working Lunch and Newsround decamped to last year) are unlikely to be options as they are both operated by BBC Resources and would be charged out at competitive rates. (Which News would never pay in the current cost-cutting climate)

Oh, I see. But someone said that the 1 and 10 were unlikely to come from N8, so where else can they come from?

The One has already come from the current News 24 set/gallery on a number of occasions, so I suspect it could again.

The Ten could also come from the current News 24 set/gallery, though I suspect the return after the headlines would be ditched, with BBC One only having the regional opt. Similarly if the programme finished with the hand to the regions then it might be possible to do it in the same studio as Newsnight, if they could share the same desk (with a different coloured front), with a fast turnaround between the Ten and Newsnight ?

What is VERY unlikely is any other studios that news don't currently own being brought into service. The costs would be significant...

I was told ages ago that there was a small unused news studio in the newscenter(N3 Confused: )They could use there.
does anyone know if this studio is still there/oporational.

N3 closed years ago and was located near where TC10/TC11 was. N5 was more recently closed down and that was the old Arabic tv news studio.

I think the old headline bed fitted better with the 2007 look than the new one-the new one lacks base.

Currently FOUR real news studios at TV Centre.

News 24 studio
BBC World studio
BBC One bulletins inc Breakfast studio
Working Lunch/Hardtalk/Newsround/Newsnight studio

There is also a small CSO studio with a very limited gallery that is used for BBC Three's 60 Seconds news. (The CSO area is also used for links on the BBCi Press Red news loops)

Previously, until they closed/left news over the last few years, there were additionally :

BBC Three News / Liquid News / Celebdaq studio (then used as a temporary studio for Working Lunch/Newsround/Newsnight during the last set-change project)
BBC Interactive studio (used for Have your Say and Interactive forums etc.)

Another studio was used temporarily by News 24 for a period when their current set was installed.

Apart from the aesthetic considerations of an active newsroom behind the set, there are - according to some previous comments on this forum - practical downsides to the newsroom not being close to the set.

This would have happened when 24 was in the CSO while N8 was being refitted. Does anyone know whether there were any problems with the newsroom being a distance from the set then? Were any additional means of communication set up?

Does News still have a Westminster studio?

The practical problems then were related to the GALLERY not being close to the newsroom, not the studio.

As News 24 is moving down into the BBC One Newsroom - they will be very close to their new gallery (currently the BBC One gallery) and the studio is pretty close.

Any news on the new 8pm summary on BBC One? I presume it will begin at the end of the month but who will present it? The News 24 2-5pm female presenter?

Surely it'd be possible for Joanna (or whoever's on 6.30 to 10) to do it. Just pop away during the weather, miss the N24 TOTH, but be back for the second story. Surely the cheapest way to do it!
